The Authorized Economic Operator or AEO is a concept introduced by the SAFE Framework (SAFE Framework of Standards to secure and facilitate global trade) referring to operators involved in the movement of goods along the international trade supply chain who have achieved the required security standards and are accredited by the member country.
The Malaysia Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Programme, previously known as Customs Golden Client, is administered by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) as one of the trade facilitation measures to traders since 2010. Companies which have met compliance and security standards will be accredited as AEOs and enjoy Customs benefits including automatic approval of self-declarations of import, export and transit and deferred payment of duty / tax.
This programme is open to all stakeholders such as manufacturers, importers, exporters, customs agents and warehouse operators involved in the international supply chain. No accreditation fee will be charged.
